About Us

Hi! My name is Gloria, and I am the owner of Bare Chemistry Electrolysis.

I am a Professional Electrologist and Certified Medical Assistant. I have been in the medical field since 2014 and became a full time electrologist in June 2021. My career shift into permanent hair removal started at the University of Colorado, where I was trained in the craft and managed the Electrolysis Program at CU Dermatology. I worked closely with the transgender community providing electrolysis to help them prepare for gender assignment surgery.

I soon thereafter joined another local electrolysis studio part-time to expand my knowledge and help more people achieve their goals of being rid of unwanted hair. This fueled a fire within me, and Bare Chemistry Electrolysis was born.

There are very few established electrolysis centers owned by people of color, particularly in CO. I am so excited to bring this new studio to my home town and to my state. I hope that everyone who steps into my studio knows that they are safe, they are heard, and they are welcome without judgement.

What Causes Unwanted Hair Growth?

Many things can cause excess hair growth including; heredity, hormone levels, medications, temporary hair removal methods (i.e. waxing, tweezing, threading, etc.), and illnesses. It is also common for women to have unwanted hair growth during puberty, pregnancy, and menopause.

How does electrolysis work?

Electrolysis involves the insertion of a fine probe into each individual hair follicle, and a small amount of current is applied, destroying the papilla (the blood supply to the hair). When the dermal papilla is completely deactivated, no further hair growth can occur.

Is it safe?

Yes! Electrolysis has had a history of safe and effective hair removal since 1875. Our equipment is sterilized before each treatment and we use a brand new sterilized probe for each session so there is never any chance of cross-contamination.

Our Policies

Scheduling Policy

Bare Chemistry Electrolysis requires a valid credit or debit card to schedule all appointments. Appointments are confirmed when a 50% deposit is paid.

late Arrivals

Bare Chemistry Electrolysis has a 10 minute grace period. It is the client’s responsibility to contact the studio if they are running late to an appointment. Failure to arrive at or before the 10 minute grace period ends may result in a cancellation of the appointment.

Cancellation/”no-show” policy

Bare Chemistry Electrolysis requires 24 hour notice to cancel appointments. Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice results in a lost deposit. “No-Show" clients may be responsible to pay the full service price of the missed appointment prior to scheduling any future appointment. Habitual late cancellations and no-shows my result in lost scheduling privileges.

Bare Chemistry Electrolysis will contact clients as soon as possible via phone call or text message in the event that an appointment needs to be rescheduled or cancelled, and possible rebooking options will be offered.

Insurance

Bare Chemistry Electrolysis does not direct bill insurance. For clients who are seeking reimbursement from their insurance companies for treatment, we will keep detailed records and provide you with invoices to submit to your insurance company.
